Connotations/Denotations of an advert The Ad that I chose is the Stranger Things x KFC Ad promoting Stranger Things season 5. The colours in this ad are bold red and black, which suggests the wings look hot and maybe scary. The sauce dripping off the wing also makes it look like it will burn. Denotation: Three fried chicken wings coated in a bright, glossy red sauce resting on a piece of branded KFC wax paper .
